Record the deepest chest measurement and the narrower waist separately; one chest-based size cannot describe the whole silhouette.
Check that your pattern accommodates the chest depth and belly taper before committing to a size.
Test the neck opening and front-leg clearance gently; do not force the dog’s legs through a tight garment.
Measure your Italian Greyhound while standing comfortably. Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Measure along the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Keep the tape snug without pulling it tight.
Use the actual pattern’s gauge, ease and finished measurements. Check that the garment allows comfortable movement.
Breed reference measurements
Use your own dog’s measurements — no breed-average garment measurements are supplied for this guide.
Measure chest and back on your own dog. The size filter is a browsing aid, not a garment size chart.
